Welcome to the world Lilly-Anne

There is something so special about capturing those first few hours after the birth of a child. I always feel so honored to be a witness to such a wonderful life changing event.  The connection between Mama and her baby, Daddy’s pure joy and excitement, watching siblings sitting in awe staring at their new little brother or sister. Looking back, all those tiny beautiful details can be so fuzzy. I wish I would have been able to hire someone to photograph these moments for my family. After 36 hours in labor and only dilating 2cm,  I required a C-Section and was in so much pain and so exhausted I didn’t pick up my camera for weeks after my daughter was born. I suppose that’s why these sessions are so important to me. Sometimes I tear up when I’m editing a session, Fresh 48 sessions tend to pull at my heart strings. I love how each family is so different and unique. I love how raw and real the images are. Mama was in a some pain after her C-section so we took it easy. Once the kiddos arrived we were able to grab some sweet moments between them and Lilly-anne. There were a lot of giggles and silliness at this session, it was awesome. The kids were so excited to see their little sister. As an only child growing up, I never had this experience. I sat quietly and watched them interact, taking pictures as they smiled and watched her wiggle and coo in her basket. The little guy seemed particularly curious about his new little sister, asking his daddy tons of questions. Daddy was happy to answer his questions as he held Lilly-anne in his arms you could just feel the love.
